Cortina d’Ampezzo
Cortina is situated more or less in the middle of the Ampezzo Valley wide, almost completely surrounded on four sides by high Dolomites. Originally the village was composed of several hamlets and isolated stemmed, but with the advent of mass tourism in the second half of the twentieth century, many of them are extended to such an extent that it is in the eyes of the visitors as a single country. Only the most remote hamlets remained still secluded and isolated, far from crowded city centre, Oasis of true peace and tranquility montana. The beating heart of the life of the local community, and the most popular hangout for tourists of all ages, is the now famous Course Italy, one of Italy’s most popular streets for shopping: on it, or on neighbouring streets, overlook some of the most prestigious shops of Italy and Europe (Bulgari, Benetton, Gucci, Geox…). Also you can find a variety of workshops, antique dealers, souvenir shops (El Lavieso, Avo, Art House, Typical handicrafts ampezzano) and mountain equipment (The North Face, Technique, K2 Sports Lacedelli, Share 1224 Sport, Salomon Shop, Kobe Sports).
